Seriously what the f*ck gives Why does it seem like so many EVO owners on this website want the EVO X to fail? I mean I can't believe the negative feedback from you guys, I mean some of it is just absolutely ridiculous. I mean we are judging the EVO X on looks as if our cars (IXs and VIIIs) are some design masterpieces. Don't get me wrong I love my IX to death, but who the f*ck am I fooling. I know it isn't the prettiest thing to look at, but you know what, it is kick *** fun to drive and that is what I care the most about and I would hope we would give the EVO X the same chance. We don't even have all the facts about EVO X, or what I consider the most important facts

 

I disagree, I think the evo 8/9 is one of the best looking tuners of the entire era. Always was to me. The panels, the way the front and rear have that subtle but defined wide body, the sharp abrupt edge of the rear, longer pointed nose, large air ducts and having the novelty of being one of the first production cars with roof vortex gens and a full cf wing was so cool (also one of the most iconic wings, so many aftermarkets have copied the look it was so good and I love the way it "hangs" over the rear of the trunk). Not to mention the profile, the headlights/tail lights were perfectly blended into the chassis. Simple, minimalist but very aggressive. You cant call the evo 8/9 and its predecessors ugly because it doesn't try to impress in the first place. You either love it or don't care for it. I fell in love with it the day I discovered it. They're also small and very lightweight which is just a bonus. If you want to talk about a car "not pretty to look at" but an amazing driver look to the Lancia inegrale evo.

As for the X. I cant say I want them to fail. However there is too much about it that resembles the base lancer. How many interchangeable parts are there with the X and the base lancer vs the evo 8/9 and the base lancer? Thats my thinking it just wasn't "special" enough. Its also a little too big and bulky for me anyways and with the 4b11 and getrag trans it was hard to call it an evo at that point. It inherited the name simply for PR. Im not trying to throw the evo x under the bus here, its a great drivers car. This is just my own thought process and it doesn't have to be popular.

 

The Evo 10 was sold from 2008 to 2016. The Evo 8/9 was sold from 2003 - 2007. Naturally, people are going to have slightly more admiration for something that is more rare. I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

 

The internet just be like that. As a 10 owner, it is annoying. But I know what the car can do, what it has done, and it simply is an amazing machine. And about it sharing "more" parts with the base, it shares basically the same amount of parts as the 7/8/9 lancer base... Keeping the 10 the same as CT9As would completely defeat the purpose of the "Evolution" name.

But yea, f*ck the internet haters, most of them are lame in real life too.
