No matter what the mark up is going to be, people now are not stupid anymore. They will wait few more months since they were able to wait for a year anyways and will get it at below invoice just like the current Evo.
Most enthusiasts bought the 03 already and they had no idea what's coming next and didn't want to see their car be unavailable.

However front LSD and ACD aren't new and most likely not improved and the reason why they didn't bring it for 2003 was bogus since they are bringing it now. That is upsetting.
You don't care and are of course not upset since you're selling your car anyways
I plan on keeping my car for at least 3 or 4 more years and I do care.
lol, if it makes you feel better, 90% of the people on this board won't even notice the new diff and won't use the acd as much as they think. my friend bought the sti becuase of the dccd and take a guess how many times he actually moved that dial???

I have to admit - only reason I want the ACD is so I can pull the ebrake. Every time it rains I want to go spin somewhere (at low speeds)
OK, not the best reason so I can live without it but I really want the front LSD and from what I understand it doesn't work right with the current center diff unless someone proves otherwise and I guess that's where you really need the ACD.
I'm interested in how much it will cost to get the front LSD in if ACD is not necessary. Less electronical junk the better.

Folks, we all know what the biggest improvement in the '05 was. I mean, it's obvious.
The large-size cupholder
I mean, when I'm at Infineon Raceway, eating turn after turn like a madman, the thing that I despised most about the Evo when taking a corner at the tires' limits of adhesion, was that my chocolate McDonald's shake would end up on the other side of the car. Curse those stubborn stains!

2005 buyers rejoice, and bask in the glory that is our larger cupholder!! We stood and waited, and waited, and now we are victorious.!! And all the '03 and '04 owners will have to shuffle their feet, trying to defend their cupholders which are plebian in comparison!!

All hail the 2005 Evolution VIII, in all its beverage conveyance glory!

Good for the people that waited. Pricewise they will probably cost around the same as 2003s.
This is my last Mitsubishi ever.
Dude, get used to it. All manufacturers constantly upgrade their products on an almost yearly basis. The market its too competitive to sit still on yesterdays products. That's goes with buying any make of vehicle. Look at the Dodge Neon SRT-4, do you think the first year buyers are upset that the second year it came with more power AND a limited slip front diff? Probably, but are they being reasonable about it? No, get over it, you have last years product and you know what, in 2006 the 2005 MR will be lasts years product. Let's be realistic here and stop whining.

I don't care about different turbo or the shocks and rims and alu roof, but lsd and acd do **** me off because if you try and get it separately they will probably charge arm and leg.
sux
Camaro z28 then they came out tw/ the ss and everyone was pissed, also the t/a and then the ws6 package...The new gto is coming out w/ a judge package in a few years..Ford lightning started out decent but blew up by the end and every year seemed to get better and that pissed people off.. M3 went from a US version(low hp) and Europen version( high hp) to a single high HP car a few years ago...They all do it but if you don;t have that car you never notice, only if you are driving that brand...

He's bitter about the cupholder. He'll get over it in due time.

Quick, someone e-mail a picture of an Evo's cupholder! I have an urge to break out Photoshop CS!

Misterspoot, that was classic. Well, this is great news, standard evos will come with the larger MR turbo (not MR anymore), the ACD, the front LSD, new colors( hopefully the blue wont dissapoint this time) AND a LARGER CUPHOLDER??? Mitsu has got me sold. I will have to get the H.I.D's back, I did love the fact that they were standard. Oh well, and ACD and front LSD easily makes up for the loss.

I noticed that the HID's will be an option on the '05 Evo's except for the MR. I guess they had to offset a little cost somewhere.
A front lsd sure would be nice though. When autox'ing it isn't uncommon for me to be spinning one front tire on some of the turns

how much you think it would cost to convert a 03 to the 6 speed w/acd and front lsd? hell, is it even logically possible?

Ahhh, I think I'll just wait for the new GT-R in 2007. Should be dead sexy... Then I can turn my "poor" '03 Evo into a stripped out nasty beast.

pre-ordered mine and was guaranteed msrp. as for price, the n.e. mitsu sales rep. indicated less than $34,000.00 which i took to mean $33,999.99.
