wait wait... so how much faster is the MR than 03-04 evos? the website with spec sheet of MR says that it will have 5 more horse and 15 more pounds of torque? only thing that seems appealing is the 6 speed... maybe i didnt do my research right but im guessing MR is not going to be too much faster

I haven't driven a 6MT Evo. Not yet. I have found room for improvment in the 4th-5th gear setup in the current 5MT though. Looking at the rpm drops and the 6MT changes. It helps a great amount on the track. Around town, sure most would never notice anything. Then again around town, a CTS-V might as well be a corrolla. Just like the Brakes and the aluminum roof. If you're not out driving an Evo at 10/10ths on the track, you really have no idea what it is capable of. really no idea. It's already got such high capabilites increasing them will never be realized on the street.

the MR is also lighter, albeit by only 20 pounds or so, and they shaved the weight in the right places: at the wheels and at the top of the car. that combined with the new gearing, higher output, better traction and presumably improved torque curve, should make the car noticeably faster. R&T said they could easily feel the difference over the '03.

Transfer Case

Does anyone know if the 05's and/or the 04 RS will have the strengthened transfer case since all will have the front LSD?

If there are going to be huge markups on the MR, the 05 RS looks tempting. ACD, front LSD, Alum roof and the trusty 5 speed. It would be a true RS like the JDM ones. Since I would most likely change to coilovers and use a wider wheel, the RS would be ideal especially if no one wants them.

for bang for the buck, the RS will be reallllly tough to beat. i hope people buy the RS as well as the "base" '05. seeing a variety of different evos will be cool.

I'm really starting to consider the 05 RS. I want the 6MT, but I actually want a sunroof and cruise control. If I can't get it the way I like it for a dual purpose car, I might as well go the RS route. I can't wait to get some more hard numbers on the weights and options on the 05s to refine my selection. Right now I need more details to decide between the RS and MR. Why oh why can't they get a cruise control setup on the MR.. and a sunroof.. argh. I'm even letting the lack of SMT slide.

The 05 RS details are indicating it is the MR RS. aluminum roof and door bars. 5MT instead of 6, No HIDs, No wing, No ABS..

Hmm decisions, decisions.. only a few months to go to decide....

Sorry, ZX3. I just got off the horn with a Mitsubishi rep, and they said you have to decide right now. Otherwise, they won't sell you a car.

i have no idea what you are talking about. i had those seats and they were THE BEST seats i have ever sat on (including my brides, recaro srd's etc...) i am 33 waist and they were good enough for a 8 hours straight drive as well as some road racing. the US recaro seats feel like a lazy-boy seats after you seat in the JDM ones.
