MSRP, #1 on the list, just put deposit down.

Question: my dealer said I can't really spec out my color and options. I want either a white or a grey one WITHOUT moonroof, and the big CF wing (might be standard in the MR)...

Did you guys get to spec yours out? I've ordered only BMWs and MINI and I am used to giving my exact specs to the dealer, agree on a price, and get the car in 10-12 weeks the way I want it.

Ok, I see your a newbie so i'll explain. The MR has an aluminum roof. If mitsubishi put a sunroof wouldn't you think that'll defeat the whole purpose of dropping 5 lbs on top? Also the MR is known to have a full carbon fibre wing. I haven't heard anything about the wing and there is a good chance that the MR will only be offered in grey.

thanks for the explanation, yes, I'm a newbie here.

That's exactly why i didn't want a moonroof, i need the extra head room for helmet, and i definitely do not need the extra weight.

So now back to my original question, can we spec out our color and options?

I still can't decide between white and grey. I have a feeling that every other MR will be grey, it does look cool, but I've always wanted a white Evo8.

^^my dealer said i could spec out mine as soon as they get their order sheets, supposedly in july. you should be able to pick your color (NOT just gray) and factory options (TBD).

I mean that 300 pounds would make a difference on the track. But for day to day use ( which i am planning to use the car as a daily driver ) i think that the EVO is plenty fast for me.
Thats not true sir... Unlike the rest of the world, when the evo 8 first came out I waited. I had this feeling eventually they would upgrade it with what I was looking for...6 speed manual, a better color, and a more powerful stock performance package under warranty.

Not like the last one matters since I only need the warranty in case I get a dud, after 5 months engine mod process begins. ALSO! At the time I had no information that ACD would be coming with all the 05 models. So, that was another reason I wanted the MR.

I would have actually gotten the elise over the MR if it were not for these 2 reasons. I want a tuner car to mod and a turbo (I dont know much about the elise engine, or even what it has. To lazy to look). Also I need more room, the elise is smaller then my Mcoupe. I do not want smaller then my Mcoupe. 4 doors, with performance that is equal to my s54 Mcoupe + the ability to mod and make faster = 7h3 ch01c3!!!

M Coupe. Yum. I envy you.

My $1000 deposit goes down for the MR on July 3rd. Price is $3K under whatever is MSRP, plus sales tax.

Alright here is the deal on the order, the dealer puts the cars on his otd(commitment sheets), then about a month later we spec out the cars, including color. As long as your dealer knows exactly what you want color wise they can spec it out. Just remember we have 48 hours to spec them out when they show up on our computers. So you need to let your dealer know what you want ahead of time.

Cool, thanks for the info. My dealer didn't metion about the 48 hrs spec window. He said they just get whatever they were given, which I thought was kindda strange. Maybe they do things differently over here... we'll see...

$3k under MSRP? r u serious? Anybody else paying $3k under? Might be worth the drive from MA to TX for $3k, plus car will be fully broken in and ready for the track by the time I get back home.

Trading it in for evo...Its a great car, and I will miss it dearly but, damn...No room in that car, and using it for a daily driver is a pain sometimes. Especially on long trips with no room to squirm heh.

Figured I may as well trade it in since its 4 doors, and has the same performance as my Mcoupe...not to mention a 6th gear and a very moddable engine >.

That's the result of an extremely good relationship with my dealership. I know he wouldn't charge anyone a penny more than MSRP for the thing anyways, plus everyone that goes there gets 20% off parts/labor if they purchased the car there.

nicely done! anybody else got dealer to agree for UNDER MSRP?

Also, my dealership saids they do vin etching and "protection package", or whatever, to all their cars, I will still pay MSRP for all that extra stuff, but I don't really want VIN etching... is that standard practice for Mitsu?

GTR - The wing on the MR is no different than the current evo...it is just painted a graphite color to match the carbon fibers general color. Also, the MR will be offered in more than one color.

People have made that same statement about the wing....when in the mitsu press release about the MR in japan it says the wing is just painted to match the overall color of the carbon fiber...."to give it a machine look"

You are correct. This is one thing on the MR that is riced out without a purpose. I'm saying the it's like painting my hood black to give the carbon fiber aftermarket look.
