1. Lighter roof
2. Bilsteins
3. ACD (although I gues all '05s get this)
4. BBS wheels
5. 6 M/T

What I don't know:
1. Weight Difference between Evo, RS, and MR?
2. Power differences if any at all?
3. Color options? I heard graphite or red, but do we know more now?
4. Leather seats, etc. I thought I read the MR would have standard leather seats and a high end stereo, but I could be confusing this with the GSR.

I would like an MR and I am considering one over the new C6 vette, but why is everyone so excited about this MR unless it is drastically lighter? All the other features seem pretty marginal.
The MR is 30lbs at most lighter then the standard Evo. The RS is a stripped version so it is ALOT lighter... All the 2005's have the same power. The MR's new color Is Graphite, it is only avail to the MR. There is no leather or high end stereo in this car...

Why are some people more excited? Well for starters its a 6 speed Evo, and after I have my transmission rebuilt and my gear ratio's changed its gonna be hella fun. Look there technically is only a few reasons why anyone would want this car over a standard evo...

1) 6 Speed
2) Color
3) Wheels
4) If they are using this car for STOCK racing types, then it is the Ideal car.
5) They like to have the latest and newest cars.

There are probably a few more but those are the most common...Just from what I have gathered that is.

I'm asuming $3-5 grand over GSR Evo - but with the upgrades I think its worth it if you get it at MSRP or less.

1. Does the GSR come with the 6 speed? Can you even order a GSR?

2. How hard would it be to do a 6 speed swap into the standard Evo?

I really want a sunroof, so the MR is kind of out for me as it is. But I would definitely like to have a 6 speed. Thinking for a 3-5k difference in price (and the fact you can get a standard EVO for invoice) that might be the best bang for the buck.

Thanks,

Dan

"GSR" is the name for a basic Evo in other countries and only available with 5 speed here in US. I think it will be hard to swap in 6 speed.

If I had an 03 I would definately wait - I think Evo 9 will have variable valve timing and possibly 300+ Hp.

Well if you want a 6 speed your better off with the MR...Or import a evo...It would cost alot to get a normal evo to 6 speed. You really dont gain any advantage to having one...Maybe 200rpm's more for mileage, and you will have to shift more then you would the five speed on the track. But if you just want the 6 speed because you want a 6 speed, like me, then it would be easier to get the MR, and cheaper.

Outlaw -

I hear what you are saying about wanting a 6 speed b/c you want a 6 speed. I would probably put myself in that camp, but I also like the idea of a lower RPM when doing highway cruising. There is nothing I hate more than being at high RPMs when I am trying to relax and cruise at 75 on the highway.

Current Evo Owners - What is the 5 speed turning at 75mph on the highway? Also annoys the heck out of me this car doesn't have cruise control, but I guess I can live with that one. Leather seats, sunroof, and no cruise control...interesting...

I call bull****. Markup is only 2 grand. Since there are only 700 of them being built, only a moron would lose a grand so you can have a limited edition car. Hell he would be better off giving you a $1000 on the street and keeping the car so he can profit of of it from someone actually willing to appreciate it's value
