Differences between 04 and 05 models?

Hi, I am considering getting an EVO. I really love the MR but I hate the fact that you cant get leather or sunroof which I want. I wanted to know if yu guys know of any changes they might do to the 05 models, NOT MR or RS. Just strictly the EVO. Any differences (hopefully some added interior changes)??

ALL models (VIII, RS, MR) recieve the following:

  • Larger diameter turbo nozzle (10.5) and New wastegate shape (circle) resulting in +5HP, +13lb-ft
  • Front helical limited-slip differential
  • Active Center Differential with updated meter cluster under binnacle
  • Larger cupholder (most important change!)
  • Aluminum door side-impact beams
Then there are RS specific items, and MR specific items. Just give it a read.

Im so excited about that, I thought the ACD and power increase is only for the MR. So pretty much the only important thing the MR has is the 6spd. A few Q:s

1) Will you still be able to get the sun, fun leather pkg for the 05 VIII?
2) I take it theres no sunroof available for the MR due to the aluminim roof?
3) Will the 6spd be pretty much the same as the current 5, did they match the gear ratios pretty equal or will the 6spd be much improved and allow more HP?
4)Also, I tried searching about this but couldnt really understand. The ACD seems like an awesome feature, by pressing a certain setting, does the car adopt to that surface or how exactly does the ACD work?

Thanks

3) The gearbox shouldn't make a noticable power difference. However, nobody in the us has one, so nothing is perfectly certain yet. The gears are closer so it should be easier to keep the engine in it's powerband. Do a search. It's been discussed exhaustively, but the last I heard the top gear isn't much longer on the 6spd than the 5. That means the top speed won't increase. I believe the 4-5 upshift is quite a bit shorter now.

4) Again, do a search. This has been discussed to death. There's way more to how it works than I want to type here. Basically, it moves power to the front or back depending on which has the most grip.

Another Q I had about that, for the current EVOs with the 5speed, does 2nd gear go past 60mph or do you need to shift to 3rd in order to hit 60? even better if someones gotta gearing chart to tell me what gear goes to what speed.

Again, I don't mean to be rude, but a search will answer this quicky. There's a gear ratio thread here:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ght=gear+ratio

So to answer question; yes 2nd goes to 64mph with both the 5 and 6spd.
