i found a evo 7 power fc and the seller says it will work with some modifications if i install on the evo 8. ive searched everywhere and cannot find info on this. anyone know if it will work? or tried it? what is the difference?

also, what is the part number for the evo 8 edition pfc?
whats the number for the 7?

i was the dude that lost the fc to you. i havent bought the other fc yet, ive been trying to find other sources. i would deffinatly buy it from you, or maybe work something out with the guy who sold it to you. let me know.

It worked on my MR..... I am happy to be the first to try it.

 

Yes the EVO 7 does work. I believe you have to jump the fuel pump relay wire but that's about it.

 

Hey, how much is he selling it for? My friend with a RX-7 (FD) is dying to get one at a good price. If its still available let me know how much he wants!

lol, Evo Power FCs do not work on any car other then the car it was made for. In the case of similar models you can sometimes re-pin the harness to accept same engine from a different year.

MY CAR IS AN EUROPEAN EVO 8 260 LHD.

 

I use EVO 7 Power FC's on EVO 8's no problem. Have to jump the IC spray relay wire and run a relay for the fuel pump. Other than that identical.

i dont think the JDM VII and VIII uses the same PowerFC.... i think the VIII has an extra harness..... can someone rectify?

 

Hi all.

Bringing this tread back from the dead instead of starting a new tread.

I have a Box marked PFC CT9A7 020. I belive it was built for a JDM Evo 7. I have a USDM Evo 8 MR, and would like to use the Power FC in this car.

Both are 4 Connector ECU, and it looks like it plugs right in.

Fuel relay: I read about this - What specifically do I need to do? Rewire, or do I have to install a new relay?

Manual in English - Is there any manual for PFC in English online?

5-pin Connector on side of PFC - Does anyone have a wiring pin out for the flat 5 pin Connector on the side? I think this is for the aux boost Control??

Boost Control - Will the PFC use the factory solenoid for boost controll? If yes, will it run just on/off, or can it be used "duty cycle" to Control boost more "dynamic"?

Last - If anyone has a Controller for this PFC, I am in the market. I did not get any with the PFC.
