keep getting fuel or boost cut?

if anyone could help that would be great. i got the car tuned a week ago. the guy set the boost cut on the utec at 22 psi. well if i hit it in 3rd usuall it will feel like the car slamed a wall. i am not sure if this is fuel cut or boost cut. my boost gauge is telling me it is holding right under 20psi so i dont see why the utec would cut boost. I also cant put the pedal down before like 4000rmps in any gear or it will do the same. maybe i have a bad mbc? any help would be great.

thanks, chris

It could be overboost that your not picking up.. But if your using Open loop fueling its likely boost cut..

Here's the trouble, unless your logging the data, there's no real way to know for sure whats going on..

Anyway, I get that on occasion from a misfire, but it doesnt feel like I'm hitting a wall..

there is one MAJOR exception.. If your running an older firmware, or do not have Open loop fueling enabled, you will still be at the mercy of the stock fuel/boost cut and RPM limits.. so verify that OLF is enabled and that your running a v1.7 firmware

Are you using open loop fueling and closed loop boost? 500's in your boost table seems weird if you aren't using open loop fueling...

Anyway, not sure what --- means, but it looks like UTEC fuel cut.. (plus your maxxed on your injector duty)

1) What firmware are you running
2) Are you using open loop fueling
3) are you using closed loop boost?
4) Did you enable any of the boost cut or RPM cut features?

It might be that you have an OLF MAF Cut set for 17 since all of your cut is happening at around 1700hz...

660 to 680cc injectors.. what mods do you have requiring you to add that much fuel with a stock turbo anyway? Where did that map come from?

this is one of 2 maps he did on the car. the other has a little more agressive timing but the boost was set at 90 on the 2nd map. i think open loop fueling may come in at 35% throttle.

OK this makes alot more sense now..

YES your hitting fuel cut.. if Open loop fuel feature is turned off your at the mercy of the factory ECU's RPM and Boost/Fuel cut limits

if your using closed loop boost control (requiring those values of 500) you need a map sensor, if you don't have one, then you should disable it or it may behave strangely. (From what I can tell it looks like you do with your PSIA values, but since I didn't see them vary I can't be sure)

Yeah if your not using open loop fuel control, when you add fuel you basically increase the likely hood that the ECU will get fuel cut..

I actually have this happen to me every time I run my car in passthrough mode, I get fuel cut exactly at 4000rpm, occasionally I get a misfire that feels like stumbling, depends on the density of the air that day.. if its not very dense, I don't get the fuel cut, but I get the misfire.. therefore I rarely if ever run passthrough anymore.

ok i will go ahead and order a map sensor it was on my list, but why are the injectors maxing out? is it because i am not running open loop fuel? and if i do run open loop fueling will i still need larger injectors?

also i want to say thank you for your help, i appreciate all the time you spend on here helping others. thank you.
