Great $6.95 Shift Light
I bought this small LED light cluster from superbrightleds.com. I mounted it in my Craig Hardy dash panel and it works great.
Even on a bright sunny day it really catches your attention. It comes 12V ready and works like a charm.I tried to take pics but the damn thing is so bright the camara could not compensate. http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...roduct=ACCENTS.

What are you using to send the signal to the light?
^^Forget it...I didn't realize what forum I am in, I assume it is a user programmable output from the UTEC....

The LED's are all blue, but the color is your choice. The pic sucks but it is all that I have. I plan on recessing it into the panel soon.

Yep.. you take a 12v source, through the light, then use the switched connections for "Ground" side of your light..
I find the bayonette lights work best, I have a regular shift light, but I also found these cheapo "lighting kit" lights with super bright LED's, basically map illumination that looks like tiny little shift lights, I happen to think they look pretty good too..
I happen to think these look alot like shift lights and are very bright..

Be careful to read the specs on any LED that you choose. The light can not draw more than 100Ma or you risk burning out a section of the board on your UTEC. This is documented in the UTEC manual.

The LED is powered by a 12V switched source. The Utec acts as the ground. There are three pins in the molex connector (see manual) for the remote map switch that are used as the grounds for the shift light. I am only using one shift point so I am only using one of these pins, but you can use all three for a sequential shift light if you want. Yes the $6.95 cluster pulls < 100Ma so it is fine and I have been using it with no problems. Look at the UTEC manual for which pins are for the shift light output (ground).
