FYI... Buschur charges $1,395 for the V-Pro and tuning is included. But you'll have to get a bunch of other parts... like the harness, MAP sensor, MAF elimination pipe (for your intake), intake temp sensor and O2 sensor. A decent chunk of change for all that. I think you'll still end up ahead compared to other shops, however. And yes, make sure your shop is a HKS Pro Dealer.

I for one have recently made the switch from the AEM EMS to the Vpro and couldn't be happier. Had the AEM on the car since November or so of 2003 with the 5th AEM box produced for the Evo. Personally feel the Vpro is better due to ease of tuning, better resolution, and above all better customer service.

#3 The main reason HKS won't let just anyone tune a v-pro(besides quality control) is they don't want to open a enteire dept. of tech support for tuners(like AEM),so they have selected shops across the country that are able to tune them.

the AEM/Motec would be more for the do it your self type

2500? Buschur sells it for $1395 and includes the tune if you purchase it. And even then. $1100 for tuning?????

And parts all you would need is the MAP and IAT sensors for the parts. It costs the customer $200 to install the unit? There is no cutting of the factory harness, how much to install a UTEC. It takes 15 mins to pop off the glove box, unbolt a screw, pop the ecu in between the bar and utec and bolt back one.

Does that include all sensors, wire harness, install, and dyno time as well?

I'm not sure, I run a UTEC far cheaper and gets the job done just fine, once the new firmware is out with speed density this month then it will be perfect.

Install is plug and play so whether that included do it yourself right before they tune it.

The only reason hks locks out tuning to the end-user is because they don't want you screwing up the car. Hks vpro is a very powerful computer. The resolution of the map is twice the size of the aem at 32x32. It takes a long time to tune. If you are the type of person that doesn't care about tuning, but you do want the best for your car and you do have money burning a hole in your pocket. This is the unit for you. This unit will run about 3500-3600 out the door fully tuned. I have seen the hks vpro in action and i highly reccomend it if you meet those 3 requirements.
To me, it is the best. I also like the aem ecu because i get to tune it. But you gotta bow out to the hks vpro in terms of tuning capabilities.
Actually that resolution makes the map have 4 times more resolution. Just correcting to show how good the unit really is.

Similar to what you see for the AEM. I plan to configure some sub fuel and timing maps for methanol injection and plan to run the meth controller or pump switch to the vpro for the input to switch to the alternate fuel and timing maps when meth starts sprayiing.

Nope, we are an authorized dealer so we get to see and change the maps how we want thru the powerwriter software.

Based on the very little info. I have read or seen from it, it would be a great item for the end user to have as the vpro locks the end user out of the maps, datalogs, and general sensor info. Highly doubt it would allow any fuel or timing changes like it does on the SZ, but don't quote me on that.

It needs to be tuned for the cold weather conditions, like the AEM as well.
