I'm using the older model unit if that helps at all.

The older unit was called the Knock Amp. It is silver with a silver display like an EVC 5. These units did not come with a wideband sensor either, and the sensor is a NTK sensor instead of the Bosch LSU sensor that came with your AFK.

I do not have an AFK yet and am having trouble deciding between picking up an older one and getting a new A/F sensor or shelling out 800 for a new setup.

What are you're thoughts/opinions, very much appreciated.

Personally, I would pick up the newer one as the replacement sensors are much cheaper for a Bosch LSU vs. the NTK sesnor. Also, setting up the knock sensor to be read to the ecu for the AFK is much easier than the older models by far.
