it's the best. you just can't tune it. It's really a set it and forget it kind of deal. It's for the kind of person that doesn't want to deal with tuning, but knows he/she wants the best.

Well how to answer this. A material object being the best is one's subjective opinion. With this being a an opinion of one or more people then becomes a general consensus. The general consensus is where you 'could' start basing your own opinions from. Data and information is also a key element in where you can start to base your own opinion from. Some people speak from experience as well, and this can factor into the general consensus.

Basically it comes down to this. Do a search, do some reading, then post. Otherwise just stay in the corner and be a lurker, so your post count stays low, and we do not have to respond to your idiotic posts!

BTW just my .02

The HKS F-CON V Pro is a fully featured standalone engine management system that connects as easily as a "piggy-back" fuel and timing controller. As modifications to a vehicle are made, the need for fuel and timing adjustments becomes critical for performance and safety. The F-CON V Pro with its 32x32 resolution for both fuel and timing maps is the optimal solution. The F-CON V Pro can control up to eight injectors and D Jetro or L Jetro setups. --- Injectors can be set to fire as batch, sequentially or staged. The F-CON V Pro can also read drive by wire vehicles. Programming is done via the HKS Power Writer software; which only Certified HKS Pro Dealers have access to. The HKS Power Writer software for the F-CON V Pro has some very unique abilities to simplify setup and tuning. Via the vehicle start up menus most Japanese import cars can be easily started by selecting the vehicle’s parameters (Make, Model, Engine and etc). Tuning is simplified due to the A/F Feedback control; where a target A/F value can be input and the F-CON V Pro will adjust fuel automatically. Also full data logging capabilities are built into the F-Con V Pro Power Writer software. All major vehicle conditions including; speed, rpm, water temperature, intake temperature, timing, boost, injector duty cycle and etc can be logged to an HKS Pro Dealer’s computer.

All of the above is great but how does it seem to be working in someone's car? Maybe you can compare it to the AEM EMS or something that someone can get an understanding of how well it works.

I've had the V-Pro in my MR since January. It was installed & tuned by Pruven Performance in Milford, CT. The V-Pro fully integrates with the factory ECU, allowing the factory computer to run normal functions like A/C, idle, etc. and the V-Pro will handle all the GO functions. And handle them very well it does. The main purpose of this ECU is to let the car, in any state of modification from moderate to extreme, handle fuel and timing as if it were stock. The V-Pro also allows you to run speed density and remove the MAF. An incorporated air intake sensor allows the V-Pro to monitor most all functions of the car in it's log.

The HKS is a nice unit....but the "whats the best?" question is all opinion. Ive played with an AEM EMS on a laptop in a car, just checking it, and I'd prefer to have access to my unit. I dont like a manufacturer telling me I have to abide by their rules when I buy their product. The idea is good....but its not THAT great of a unit like a Motec to be locked out of the owners hands.

If he's hiring a desk jockey then i'd sure like to take that job =)

The only reason hks locks out tuning to the end-user is because they don't want you screwing up the car. Hks vpro is a very powerful computer. The resolution of the map is twice the size of the aem at 32x32. It takes a long time to tune. If you are the type of person that doesn't care about tuning, but you do want the best for your car and you do have money burning a hole in your pocket. This is the unit for you. This unit will run about 3500-3600 out the door fully tuned. I have seen the hks vpro in action and i highly reccomend it if you meet those 3 requirements.
To me, it is the best. I also like the aem ecu because i get to tune it. But you gotta bow out to the hks vpro in terms of tuning capabilities.
