Splicing Fields Harness?

Sorry I dont know if this has been covered. But my quick question is. Is it possible just to cut off the end of the fields harness that doesnt plug into the ECU and then connect the SAFC wires? Or should I just keep the other end on and splice into the harness? THanks for help.

I would have answered, but I have no idea what you mean by "cutting off the end of the fields harness." You just splice into the 5-6 wires on the Fields Harness, then plug it into the ECU. I can't imagine how/why you would cut off the ends...

You don't want to do that. Since your AFC reads input from the sensors of the car what you want to do is strip away the ...stripping...on the fields harness wires and splice (solder) the AFC wires into them. Kind of like shaving a strip of hair to tatoo an area. Also make sure you that you follow directions and theres a good pin out diagram and install how/to on evotuners.net

Do yourself a favor and shave the wires. If you check Radio Shack they have connectors that will clamp over the wires but some don't like them, others seem to have no problems. Your call.
