The autronic auto tune only auto tunes A/F ratios using a specific gas analyzer that interfaces with the CPU as I understand it...
The Vishnu Xede package has pro-active timing, fueling and boost..the Xede is currently the only system at this price point to be able to accomplish this..

Also the autronic system is a MAP based stand alone and the Xede is a interceptor type piggy back that retains the factory MAF sensor and all of the factory knock retard protection.
Hope this helps...

doesn't the autronics use static maps like it'll tune in tune mode then burn that map and it's done. right?

Yes, That's what I said...Auto tuning is not active tuning

Sorry, little off topic, but what other EMS offer this capabilities? Motec or AEMS? I am doing research on different EMS systems and I thought only the Xede offered this.....

The xede is the only EMS that offers the active timing, fuel and boost maps. No other EMS has the capability to accomplish such a thing.

Can you convert to a MAP sensor rather than MAF or is that in the future with the XEDE?

You can do it now. Just set-up a map that outputs a freq output based upon MAP voltage (via external MAP sensor) and RPM. Takes 10 seconds to do. The calibration of that table, however, will take an hour or so to get it to drive well.

How can it be done without intake temp sensor? Are you using something else to calculate the weather change? Or you simply let SMART adjust itself?

You can either allow SMART to adjust for itself with respect to knock and AFR, which it will do very well. Or you can instal a 0-5v air intake temp sensor in an unused input and set-up a table with RPM as the X-axis and Air temp as the Y-axis and do all your fuel/timing corrections through there. I prefer the first way, however.
