Sweet, I think people who sell their UTECs are going to be very upset once it comes out

Yes he has timing control as of last week i think. I think your right though, when these updates do come out, people who have sold are going to wish they hadn't. On a side note, its going to start getting warmer soon and i need to get tuning....I NEED SPEED DENSITY DAMNIT!!!!!

I taked with Nathan yesterday about this. It seem the aussies are still working out some bugs in the software. When I asked for a new date I was told less then a month but I have been told that a month ago. Just have to wait and see. =(

 

Sad to say it, but I'm not surprised.

I'm putting my money on them not being done by the end of summer.

No the full timing control isn't out yet. I thought it was without trying it. The new 4.5 update looks great, and the drivability is even better than before, didn't know it was possible to get better than what it was but it's great.

I think the market is going to be flooded with utec's soon. Sleet your right on the money.

You may be right, and at regular pricing, the Utec/Tuner combos are a pricey piggy back style tuning solution.

. . . but it really doesn't change how good of a unit the UTEC is ... IF YOU TUNE.

It has great logging features, open loop fuel control, closed loop boost option, logs AFR's with the rest of the Utec logs ( with one of the Tuner units ), and the Pro will log EGT's beside the AFR's

Plus none of the hassles of a stand alone ( not knocking stand alones, if you have the time, patience, AND/OR money)

I would have bought mine used, but I personally avoid 2nd hand electronics without substantial product support, or recousre for a faulty product.

Speed Density will be a huge plus, but the unit is NOT in the negative without it (unless that is all that you are after)

Under $1000 for a Utec and one of the Tuners (reg or Pro), is a steal if you are cool with gambling on the reliability, it's beyond my comfort level personally.

I DO AGREE that TurboXS needs to "anney-up" with the Evo support. may be they'd get the idea if Utec owners organized a group request - not neccesarily to get the update out sooner, but at least officially communicate with the Evo Utec community.

Even though the updates are still not out I am going to hold onto my UTEC as I don't think there is a better form of EM out for me personally. I just really hope the speed density comes out soon as I can't wait to get my car officially tuned by TurboXS.
