The idle was is bit rough. We have some stuff we are playing with, but I don't have a final direction from the software guys so I can't say what's going to happen. With the cam shafts in the ideal cam position to make decent power we were able to make the car idle as well as a car with cams and OBD compliancy will idle. It can get better with some idle control features though.

As my said in my bosses email, we can't possibly make everyone happy but we can do our best what we do. What we do is offer a plug and play engine management solution that is capable of keeping OBD compliancy and offering User Tunable Features like actual Timing Control, Boost Control, Fuel Control and optional solenoid abilities.

Well. It's not that your not making the general public mad, we just wanted some type of update and a close release date. Those 2 things havn't happened until about a week ago.

I sold my UTEC about 6 months ago and so far with my new EM I am very happy with it. The few things i do miss is the perfect logging, and knock retard features. I had my car dialed in almost perfectly, but the lack of customer support was a huge negative in my book. If this can change along with speed density which I am currently using I will go back to a UTEC since the interface and tunability is good, not great.

I can wait to see what the update is like since I tune a utec evo local to me, and he is also waiting on the speed density conversion just like the rest of us.

Anyone see the new ECUFlash product coming out? I'll be able to tune stock ECU's and baseline them for mods easier. Although its off-topic, I see it as the only competition for the UTEC since its the only fully adjustable option that retains OBD-II and can bypass limiters in the ECU (Since it reprograms it) I never considered reflashing technology until I could be able to do it myself.

BTW, I installed 280 cams in my car and with the UTEC and Blowthrough MAF sensor, I have a nearly perfect idle...

Malibu, I haven't seen that. Where did you see it?

DO you know what kind of interface it has? I really like the accessport interface & am happy that they're working on it for the evo as well. I'd love to have a flash underneath the utec

THanks

Yah thats my plan, get my car and mods baselined so I can remove the UTEC if necessary, then do my aggressive tunes through the UTEC.

Vishnu is about to come out with an XFlash device that you can flash your own ECU with as well. I hope that the software that comes with these devices are really good!

I'm almost willing to bet that the cable is the same one, this particular type programming cable has been available for awhile, the software to do the magic is a new development and considering the location of the developers, I would guess its the same tool.

SUCKERS!

what a ****ing joke, I can only hope the 350z crowd actually does some research and finds out what kind of support they're going to be getting with their new utecs.

Its amazing that people are so quick to give up on stuff, especially after spending the money and its really not that bad to work with as it sits now.. Heck I have huge cams and a perfect idle..
