P0456 code question

Hi all

My service engine light just came on and I when I scanned it I got a P0456 code. Does anyone know what would cause this? My only mods are a short ram intake and catback exhaust. The code is for a small leak in the EVAP system. I am thinking the gas cap may have been loose.

If you put gas in the car while the car is running, or while the key is to ignition on with the car not running (listening to radio or powering something while pumping gas), that code will be thrown. It won't necessarily come on right after putting gas in.

Also if the cap isn't tight it will be thrown.

99% of the time it's one of these things that caused it.

If the cap is tight, you re-set it, and it comes back...you may be in for some fun as there are a TON of things you'd have to check for leaks since the evap lines are all over the car.

Temperature drop can also trigger this.

Were getting alot of this here in the Midwest. It shouldn't come back unless there is a leak.
