I have an 04 Evo RS. Looking for some advice on getting the loudest sounds out of my turbo. Any suggestions what i should do? Thanx alot Cobranski

Loudest sound out of your turbo? Well... Since the only sound a turbo makes is when it spools up, you'd have to take the intake pipe off to hear the loudest possible turbo noise. But.. since you're a newbie and have probably never had a turbo car, you probably are looking for the sound of the blow off, not the turbo. I'm not going to tell you how to make it louder because you'll just end up blowing up the dang thing for one, and two, you didn't search.

 

Take off your airbox.

Better yet, put in 87 octance and crank up the boost. That will be one hell of a loud sound out of your turbo.

i got the hks rs intake. i love it. i got it for performace but as a bonus the sound is sweet.

 

Can we have a separate area for "newbie wants to make his turbo sound loud." I thought this area was supposed to be for serious tuning questions

 

i have the INGEN one it sounds great but don't expect alot of performance out of it you gonna need the turbo back exhuast and a reflash just a advice and i also heard the hks intake is good! good look.

 

The HKS Racing Suction intake has a metal megaphone going straight from the turbo inlet to the filter. I can't see how anything could make the sound any louder. It does sound crazy though...like a damn semi pulling away from a red light.

 

if u want sound, performance and ur BOV to sound louder get the Blitz SUS Intake....i'm fully satisfied....btw u gonna really need a retune cuz A LOT of air goes in...u'll get misfires, fuel and boost cut if u don't...better safe than sorry...
