the knock you are seeing on the afc means nothing at all. dont even look at it. the afc can NOT read knock on the evo.

you can't really trust AFC knock readings but, you will know if knock reading goes way off from usual. then, you are really knocking. Or something just hit your engine

My knock value is 0 most of the time. When it's cool, it's 0 even when i'm revving over 6000. when it's hot, knock value shows somewhere between 10-30 at idle. Higher when it's really hot. Even when it's really hot, as I start the car and rev up to 3-4000, knock value goes to 0. When it's really hot and rev up to 6000 or so then knock value goes to about 40.

my air-fuel ratio at idle is -3% and at 6000rpm high throttle is -15%.

the SAFC II does not properly interpret our ECUs knock signal form our knock wire
it's like me speaking japanese to you. you can hear the noise but can't seem to figuring out what i'm saying beside guessing it. Yes it's made to read knock but not for our car.

can anyone confirm this by contacting Apexi. i'm not trying to discredit anyone, i just want actual fact and not "i read it here" or "heard it there".

if you want to read knock, get and www.pocketlogger.com and look at your timming curve, if it's diping as it climb that mean you're knocking.

just because the knocks read zero all day doesn't mean it's not working, it just mean your car is tuned properly and you are not getting any knocks as it should be. for those who have knock readings above 20 all day at all rpm range, it could be that they didn't calibrate it correctly. i just want to see some confirmation from Apexi that this feature was not design for the Evo.

Wrong, my SAFC knock is at zero all the time, but i can see knocking within the Pocketlogger. little dips here and there.

i'm not saying that it's always the case, but you can't rule out that it's a possibility. i also have a pocketlogger and anytime i have a knock reading on the safc, the timing drops down to low single digits under WOT. most of the time it's just reading zero knocks unless i'm sitting next to a chopper or a loud diesel truck and my car is sputtering trying to stay idle, i get knock readings between 3 and 5. the only other time that i might see a knock reading is in a hot summer day under WOT, so just assume that it's working fine for me. also, i recalibrate it every time i add a new mod.
