Cool My Works upgrade results

Here are the results from my trip to Works for upgrades, Im very happy:

2006 Evo9 MR (the faster silver color)
1800 miles
Works drop in air filter
Otherwise stock
Full Function Dyno (According to Sean, the owner, it dynos about the same as the Groupe-S)

Baseline Results:

Max HP: 239
Max TQE: 235

We did 3 pulls, and they were all within a few HP of each other, and that is the way we did all our tuning, 2-3 pulls each time to make sure that there were no fluke or inaccurate readings, and the numbers were always repeatable. The numbers throughout ALL the pulls were super close to each other.

Modifications Completed that night:

Works Bored Throttle Body
New Works O2 Sensor Housing (Ceramic Coated)
Works DP (Ceramic Coated)
Works HF Cat
Works Intermediate Pipe
Works Exhale HF Muffler
Works P2 Flash/Boost hose

There was a problem with my ECU, it seems that my car (manufactured in Oct 05) has a new, later model mapping flash, so it would not work with the ECUTeK. Pete (the owner of Works/tuner) was able to send my info to EcuTeck, and get an updated code for my ECU. I really makes me wonder what changes were made to the program?

Anyways, once that was sorted, Pete (the owner of Works) took me out and did a couple hours of on the road tuning/reflashing before we went to the dyno to fine tune the maps.
Dyno the next day, the same dyno was used (full function).

Max HP: 297 (increase of + 58 HP)
Max TQE: 268 (Increase of +33 FT/LBS)
AFR: 11.2 across the board, until very high RPM, where it richens up a bit.

This was after about 2 hours of road tuning, and 2 hours of Dyno Tuning. The only adjustments made were fuel, boost, and 1 degree of timing in the high RPM range. Pete could have more than likely picked up some more power with another degree or so of timing, but we decided to stay conservative with the Cali ****-tane fuel that we run. During all the dyno tuning and road tuning, my car never pulled any timing. Pete was very happy (even suprised) with the numbers that this sucker produced.

Needless to say I am very happy, and my car just pulls like a beast. The parts that Works provides are of the highest quality that I have ever seen (not to mentioned the fit was perfect). The Techs that did the install really treated my car well, and were very helpful in answering my questions. If anyone here is wondering if Works is worth the extra money... I say go for it. Ive seen so many problems with parts of poor quality that just don't fit right, and to me it is worth it 100%.

Here is my before/after dyno sheet:

I was just going to post asking about a full WORKS TBE (power wise) and good thing i did the "search function" first lol

i think it goes without saying that works is top notch for quality, and the numbers above show the power they make

i was torn between the AMS TBE system and the WORKS system (both with HFC) and i think now im sold on the WORKS

I will also be getting a drop in, and wasnt planning on getting a MBC right away

NY has 93 octane, I bet ill feel a bit more power from it

As far as flash goes, Im either going to take a trip to Al in CT or head to Turbotrix in Jersey (i can drive to either with no downtime on the car)

I will post my numbers when I get this all done (probably 2 months or so)

How is the sound on the TBE? I know the WORKS system is one of the quieter on the market, but how about at WOT?

Nice numbers. Although it will be a bit more expensive than other vendors, it is no doubt the one of the highest quality and excellent fitment. In addition, you will receive nothing but the best service.
