New V4.5 thread

Well I finally got it loaded up and running thanks to Scott. I am unable to log. I am using the Tpro4510.ads and .xdf files. It says the serial port is not found

I really need this working so I can get running again

Right click on the gray background and it will allow you to access the Preferences menu. Click on the "ALDL/Emulation" tab and make sure the interface type is set to "Translator Pro". Hopefully that fixes the problem.

Yeah thats what I did and it worked, now I am just runnig very lean at 0-6psi at partial throttle. It got up into the 16.5 range I let off.

I brought my mainscale back down to 0. This is where im at right now, Im tired for the night too many things went wrong today. Im starting to regret upgrading, since there is no discription of any of the settings anywhere. Im seriously thinking of going back to the utec which I am far more familar with.

What I dont understand is that if decreaseing a value in the VE table shouldn't it subtract fuel making it leaner? And vice versa. My car seems to be abnormal that this doesn't work. I am quite frustrated with all the new crap and BS settings Im ready to throw the damn thing in the garbage. The logging sucks ***, if it was converted to a xls file thats one thing but a .csv? Who the heck wants to look at that mess?

My car ran perfect with the V4.0, no problems what so ever. I want to downgrade.

If you still have the firmware for V4.0 you should be able to upload it back to your MAFTpro. The major difference is that instead of switching between MAP enrichment and Boost enrichment based upon MAP reading it now changes based upon TPS reading. Try increasing your Boost enrichment. That should help some.

As far as the logging, a csv file is just as good as an xls file except it can't have any special formatting. Luckily it can be saved as an xls file after you open it in Excel. When you look at your log, there are several things affecting your AFR's: they are your VE setting, user tune values, transient response, closed loop correction, and MAP compensation. Another thing I've noticed is that the stock ECU does not adjust fueling based only on the frequency input, but also on the change in frequency input. For example, if the frequency input to the ECU is 350hz at a certain point, if the point before was 300hz it will supply more fuel than if it was 375hz.

I hope this helps. If you'd like to send me a log and your current bin file I could take a look and give a recommendation.

I still have your e-mail, I will send one over as soon as I find my wireless card.

I went out just now because defeat isn't an option right now. The first pull I did is without alky steady 10.5afrs, so far so good. Then I figured what the hell I turned the alky on and rasied the boost to 25psi, afrs were right around 10.5 again. Im guessing the alky made up for the difference in fuel.

The log I am sending is the 2nd pull since the alky usually stays on all the time. I just dont remember if it was at WOT or not.

Paul thanks for your help last night, I tried some new settings and the tip in fuelling is getting a lot better, it pretty close to being a very smooth transition. I am still running my afrs on the rich side (10.5) but will wait for a clear day to finally fine tune the trims which are a little out of whack right now. I have a STFT at 3 and the LTFT is at 10 at idle.

With that said the car regarding the fuel trims is running lean, but it really isn't. Im wondering if my 02 sensor is fubared up front? Number 1 reason I think so is every so oftn when coming to a stop I push in the clutch and the rpms will drop to the 800rpm mark and the car will go lean (18.x) and will sound like a true cammed car, plus i will throw a PO171 code. In the 4.0 bin I had +20% in the low for 400, 800, and 1200 areas ramping down by 2400. This seemed to work and have tried the same thing with the 4.5 version with no effect. Now I do run larger injectors (780's) and have the mainscale set to -14 to compensate for the injectors.

Some other times the car will come to rest at 950-1050rpms and idle perfectly, and then sometimes only when it seems to be pretty cold out the rpms will hover at around 1500 running stioch and then drop down to the 100 mark a little rich but will come back to stioch in about 2 seconds.

This can all be happening because of the Tial BOV which will be open during idle. How do I know? I can hear it. I am running the 7lb spring but still trying to find a 9lb spring.

MP is right at 68-69 during idle after warm-up.

I had similar issues with idle. I ended up spending a lot of time playing with my VE table to get it all to work out. It works pretty well now, but initially the idle would hunt as I came to a stop or the car would stall out completely. The VE table will give you the most resolution to adjust your idle stability.
