OpenPort Tuning Forum..

I think after seeing so many threads pop up for the device and software, and the fact that all of us have a ton of questions and information to share, its probably a good idea for the Moderators to create a Flashing Forum...

There are a few basic questions about what these tables are, and how they work, that really need to be answered. Unfortunately its not easy to find these answers on the OpenECU forum (plus their having some problems with the forum as far as I can tell)

Besides, I've adopted a new baby (the Openport 1.3 Cable) and need a place to watch it crawl and finally walk..

Agreed, having something here will help the community grow. It will also help keep the openecu forum for development. If you're refering to the up/down of the forum. I've noticed it for the last 6 months. Just hit refresh and it will come back.

Having it here would also allow people to share their maps and tuning ideas. But should be regulated to keep the intellectual property of other tuners secure.

Sticky's explaining the maps would be excellent, until they have time to put them into the program.

Today EcuFlash 1.26 came out at http://openecu.org. I downloaded it and used the 1.3m cable from http://www.tactrix.com to connect my 9 to the laptop. It downloaded the factory map flawlessly. I haven't begun trying to reflash it yet or tune the 9 myself, but so far this software with this cable is quite impressive.

I have much reading and learing before I really get started with this, but so far so good.

I just wanted to share my very positive first impressions with system.

You haven't begun, because you can't.

EcuFlash does not flash Evo IX yet, only reads.

You can't reflash the 9 yet, only read ECU. We haven't added flashing for the 9 just yet.

har har, well I got the cable yesterday and the software has gone from not reading at all, to reading in just one day. So at this pace, it should be flashing by tomorrow and autotuning by the weekend right? I suppose I could wait that long.

But so far, just reading is more then enough to get me started.

The real question is: What can I do to help? I have some embedded system experience, and plenty of QT/KDE experience. Let me know if I can chip in...

I would say more on the openecu forum, but I'm having a bit of a tough time finding where to get started over there.
