newb tuning ?'s

I got my car dyno tuned and obviously they had a laptop and the OBD plug in to adjust timing, boost etc. My question is, is there a program i can download on to a laptop and be able to plug in with a tactrix cable and tune my own ECU? If so what site can i download it and does it cost? Also slightly off topic, what is an optimum AFR to run. Thanks in advance for the help.

Surely you jest. If you utilize the search button you will find that there is a very well developed thread that goes over this very thing.

You can do that with EcuFlash. www.openecu.org.

I have a link in my sig that explains everything you need. I just added a video tutorial that shows how to use the programs.

What do you think EcuFlash does? I should be getting my tactrix cable today or tomorrow and I can't wait to experiment with the settings. Don't worry tuning gods I'll be careful.
