not too sure....I think that the current base maps do not change anything in regards to the stock rev limiter

and I know nothing about anti-lag...

I would assume that once again the Pro-Tune/Street-tune software will address this

I've ask this question before to see if they will offer a download to activate 2 step but nothing yet. It is still too early to say if they will offer this but like CPA5 said the protuner streettuner should be able to activate it.

I doubt they will do anything with antilag.

Sometime soon...

Hello,

Sometime here soon we will adding the functionality to change the stationary rev-limiter directly from the AP. Currently the only way to change the stationary rev-limiter is thought the AccessTuner-Pro software.

I believe we will have a beta version of the AccessTuner-Pro will be released to a few tuners here *very* soon.

It is something we'd like to do in all the cars we support. Right now we need to get a few other items taken care of first.

If you have not been in a Subaru with our flat foot shifting, I would suggest you try to. FFS is pretty cool!

Basically.

With DSMLink it would cut ignition as soon as you tripped the clutch switch (based off the same clutch switch that is used for the 2-step... for this reason some people also call it "3-step"). It would do so through setting an artificially lower rev-limiter above your 2-step launch speed. By doing this you can keep your foot on the gas which prevents your BOV from firing and keeps most of the charge in your pressurized piping (by not closing the butterfly valve and sending vac to the BOV). This in turn also keeps your turbo moving and requires less time to fill the charge pipes again (a slight amount of boost will still drop off without load unless you are using anti-lag).

Its pretty hard on the synchros so it should be reserved for drag racing, but it allows for some lightning fast shifts. There are also some concern's with the DSMLink method because it is still possible for the ECU to spray fuel in the cylinder and cause cylinder wash along with an anti-lag effect of pushing some unburnt fuel into the exhaust manifold. The quicker you shift, the less effect of the latter. Cobb may have something up their sleeve to cut fuel also, but DSMLink users always worried that if you came into the next gear hard enough without enough fuel to cool the charge that you could detonate pretty hard.

In any case, I love it and I would use it. My 2g never went quicker!

edit: There was always people reporting they could use it during autocross to allow them to shift mid-corner by reducing load based weight transfer. This is probably not the best practice for keeping your line, but might come in handy. On the other hand if it is as hard on your synchros as people report then using it during a road race or autoX sounds like a recipe for disaster. It also prevents you from rev matching as high as you would want unless you double clutch, but alot of drivers prefer to sacrifice their clutch for the extra braking load provided by letting your clutch out without rev-matching and letting the clutch do the work of bringing the engine up to speed as you donwshift.

FYI here is the Cobb FFS/Launch control video for the subies:
http://www.cobbforums.com/videos/Launch25.mov

Unfortunately they have a cruise control stick connected to the ECU to send signals for setting RPM. I wonder what will be used in the evo or if it will just have to be selected in the AP.

Heed the warnings at the beginning and end of the video.
