Not to be disrespectful but its kind of amazing that you live in the Northwest, home to one of the best tuners Lucas English. Not many people are using the AP due to the abundance of development and proven success with ECUFlash...

Good luck nonetheless...

It seems most guys using the AP do not use a mbc. Since the ecu does such a great job controlling boost it makes it not needed. Make sure to tell cobb if you decide not to use the mbc to send you out new boost hose lines for your car. They send out new lines that have the secondary pill removed and depending on your location the main pill may be re-sized so that your car will hit targeted boost levels according to their maps.

If you haven't yet purchased the cobb tbe I highly recommend it! IT sounds great and even with the test pipe is pretty quiet at everything except WOT when it shines.

www.iaperformance.com is a good place to order the tbe. If you call them talk to stephen the owner or gabe.

good luck

well i got an mbc because the owner before me had one so i didn't have any pills in my lines and was running waste gate pressure. i can't wait till it gets here should be wed. I also can't wait till i have the funds to order my tbe and unleash some real power with the stage 2. After that i will then decide how crazy i want to go. my car is a dd and i probably will only go to the track a few times so there will be no real need to have monster power (even though it is awesome to have).

First, this is my first post to any forum what so ever, although I have read my share of many, many different forums including this one. Anyway, I have tried to find more information on the actual gains besides a % as stated on Cobb’s page. It is interesting that for Subi (my brother has the 07 STI and has the AP) Cobb shows the actual average HP and Lbs gained rather than a % by using either the stage1 versus stage2. CPA5, I have many of your posts/answers and since Cobb worked on your car, you definitely have lots of experience with the AP. When you had the stage2 installed, did you see/feel a tremendous difference with the stock map? I ask because this is more of a DD for me and I am not looking to get crazy with the car. Also, have you had experience with the valet mode (how did it work out) and specifically the fuel saver mode? Have you heard of any plans to have Launch Control added to the AP as an available map? How is the Cobb exhaust working for you (notice any rattling, etc)? Last, did you find any leaks in your system (I assume this was done prior to installing the AP as described on Cobb’s page)?

I have stage 2 91 oct map now....it completely changed my car.....on a mustang dyno I peaked at 288wtq and 285whp....not bad from a base flash...if you don't want crazy well then this is just right for you I'd say...I love it!!!

The Cobb TBE has been amazing...the fit is great...no rattles what so ever....I have a test pipe...but at idle and cruise it sounds very similar to stock....at WOT is where it shines.

Also just to clarify, COBB didn't actually work on my car, I had the owner at IA Performance in TUcson, AZ do all the work. He will be custom tuning my car hopefully next week using Cobb's Protuning software.

I had no initial leaks on my car when everything was first done...at the time my car only had like 9500 miles on it...I have 13300 now.

SO far i have not used valet mode or economy mode.....I only use the car 3 days a week and I never leave it anywhere that I think is questionable...like the mall etc.....also If I do leave my car parked somewhere for any amount of time I always pull my fuse out so the only way anyone could steal the car is to load it on a trailer.

To sum up....stage 2 from COBB will definitely make your car feel way better.....the power is great...although you will get used to it...and like me...I think i'd like to have another 30-50 whp&wtq

Good Luck with your decision

I tried valet mode when I first got my AP. It definitely works. There's no way you can hammer on the car in that mode.
