and ya. putting the probe in the down pipe is technically safer then running it in the manifold, but you will get lower readings, and the readings will be delayed... Do you want a blown motor? or would you settle just replacing your turbine..

I would rather replace my turbine, it gives me a good excuse to go green... lol

umm my egt's get around 1400 F in runner number 2 about 1 inch away from the head.....and i am running defi BF imperial series gauges....and that seems fine...
