Prosport Gauge Issue

Just got my gauges today and after hooking them up, for some reason my Oil Temp gauge would blink and make a beeping noise. The boost gauge was fine as was the Oil Pressure. The boost gauge was the only one that was hooked up in terms of its sender, I didn't hook up the Oil Temp/Pressure gauge sending units (I only powered them up) since I didn't have a Oil filter sandwich yet.

Why would the gauge beep and blink?

Also, the boost gauge came with a plastic "t" as well as another metal inline fitting as well. My friend hooked up the metal fitting in between the hose going from the sending unit to the boost source, then there is the plastic "t" that it came with at the boost source itself. What purpose does it serve?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Your oil gauges are gonna beep until the senders are wired up. The T fitting is for tapping a factory vacuum line (usually the fuel pressure regulator line). I'm not sure what your "metal fitting" is.

Yeah, I really want to know if that extra metal fitting supplied with the boost gauge is necessary, because I would imagine it's just an extra restriction.

It seems the beeping has stopped, but the oil temp gauge still flashes and doesn't stay constantly lit. Any idea about this?

so the way it works is when you hit the warning threshold the gauge will beep and flash red. If when the gauge is starting up and beeping, you hold down the peak button it will mute the gauge. If the sensor is not hooked up the gauge will constantly peak and do its warning thing. I would recommend power cycling the gauge if you hooked it up and still isnt working.

well any electronic instrument that I have at work that reads temp fails high if the thermocouple opens up or the RTD fails. I'm assuming your gauge is going through it's sequence and then staying full scale which is why it's blinking and beeping. hook up the probe and it'll go away.
