Low End Power Modz??

Hey guy's, What would be the best modz to make the car driveable daily. I noticed that my car only drives well when floored. My 06' evo IX is completly stock.. what do i start with in modz for low end power or low end torque ?

hmm...ya don't hear about someone wanting this very often lol

decrease turbo size and get a built 2.3 maybe lol

nah but seriously MOST things we do to your cars is aimed at increasing peak hp. which is not going to help low end.

i think your suffering from what we turbo guys call lag... if your planning to keep your stock turbo/block/head.... i would do the lower intercooler pipe, o2 housing (get the dump from either evopowermods or qtp) full turbo back exhaust, port your stock exhaust manifold, cams, boost controller, and a tune.... youll notice your turbo spooling alot quicker and also alot more top end...

That does not sound typical of the evos, I would check for boost leaks.
what boost are you currently running? maybe boost is low.
Maybe ure running too rich

I second that! Turbo lag is not to bad with these cars, so go get your car check.

I know what you mean - off boost the car is very sluggish.

Get your timing map tuned in the low load areas - you can run a bit more timing which will increase general drivability...

Tuning can help in the low end as mentioned. The basic idea is also that intake mods help low end more and exhaust mods gain up top, but that doesn't always hold true.

or find or find out what " only drives well when floored" means.......

As in, it pulls like a SOB after 2500rmps,

if so, then yeah its the lag.

Hey guy's, I had a burnt out clutch... which caused the lag... I was able to get a FREE clutch kit from the Dealer, WooooHoooo however I had to buy the Flywheel.. So I went with Fidanza Aluminum..

I'm really surprised the dealer gave you a free clutch, even if you had only had 10 miles on the odometer. Dealers don't give clutches out in my experience.

Glad you got that lag issue fixed. In addition to what "2 Deep Motoring" said for mods, I would also port the hotside.

I bought the car used from the dealer with 20,000 miles on it, 3 days later I made this post.. didnt know what the problem was but I knew something was wrong.. so I sent the car back to them, They told me the clutch was finished on it.. I couldnt of known as this was my first Turbocharged car... the salesmen told me it was Turbo Lag. So after reading a couple posts in here I saw it wasnt normal as I knew I didnt have a bigger turbo...From there I contacted my Lawyer and sent the a registered letter advising them that I was going to take em to court for selling the car with burnt out clutch... So long story short ... I got a new clutch within a couple days but no flywheel and no installation..
