Anyone running MoTeC?

I am considering swapping my AEM for a MoTeC unit. It is a full track car, and has a custom wiring harness already.

I'm not looking for a comparison, just looking to see what MoTeC unit people are running and why, and if a base map was provided from MoTeC or if you had to start from scratch.

Why the change of heart?

I am not familiar with Motec's system, so I can't provide any good info for you, but I have been looking at purchasing an AEM unit. What issues, or reasons are you considering this switch? Sorry to be off-topic. Just curious.

It seems as there is some lack of reliability. We have been experiencing some repeatability problems and are unhappy with the speed of the unit in general. The AEM was always a temporary budget fix, and planned to end in MoTeC.

We basically need capabilities that the AEM was not designed for.

Consider the Haltech pnp e8 for simplicity and price.. I am running it on my 700+ HP street RS w/o any issue.. Car starts quick on e-85 cold no issue at all idling 1600's or driving daily.. We will be able to provide a base map with the E8 also very soon..

This is off topic, but what is the difference between the Haltech PNP E8 and the HKS F-CON?

I could not answer that as i have never used the Fcon.. A good person to ask though is Sean Ivey w/ Iveytune as he tunes both systems.. He likes the Fcon I know that..

I've had a motec m800 pnp + 3 bar map running on my VIII for the past 2 years. They do come with a base map to get you started.
