stock evo is 289hp @ 6500 rpm so that doesn't seem unreasonable to me

look at my first post on this thread. I questioned what they told you. You then refuted my statement by claiming a "cheap boost gauge" and "the dealership" told you otherwise. Cheap boost gauges and dealerships are full of sh*t most of the time. We're trying to help you here.

I would get that car in the hands of a professional tuner as soon as you have the time.

agreed. maybe he is running that much boost (I'm still very skeptical), but on pump gas he won't be running it long.

VERIFY those claims before you do ANYTHING...

1) dyno the car and verify the WHP and also log the boost.

2) log the car w/ a datalogger (evoscan) to monitor the vitals (eg. KNOCK)

3) attach a decent boost guage to monitor

Turn the boost down to 22psi first. If its healthy work your way back up to this claimed 33psi.

leaving it at 33psi, w/out knowing anything about the car and assuming you can floor it, launch it etc... is an excellent way to have a blown evo. I mean what part of 33psi doesnt raise a red flag to you?

what is parron are you trying to say perrin (very good intercooler!) i dont believe you can get 33psi from a stock turbo.and if your boost gauge only reads 25 psi it will not be accurate above that point (probably not accurate anyway you said yourself it was cheap) .it is imperative that you get the car tuned .i bought a car in a similar state and blew the motor cost me alot of cash.should have taken to a reputable tuner as soon as i bought it. good luck.

easly solution. Buy a boost gauge and have it tuned for 22-25psi..I'm sure if you keep driving it at 30+psi on pump gas for extended periods of time something will go south..
