Really need help, greatly appreciated!
Alright, well first off im new to the EVO as i just came from driving an 07 MKV GTI. So, i found an EVO, at Courtesy Mitsubishi in So.Attelboro, an 06 EVO iX SE with
11k miles, and when iw ent and looked at it, i saw some mods, didnt look like anything major, as i said.. i wasnt too firmiliar with it. So we worked out financials and i ended up getting the car. So i took it home and long story short, i have these for a list of mods
Medallion Racing exhaust (i believe its catback)
Voltage meeter
Parron Front mount
injen intake
injen intercooler piping (upper and lower)
wrapped downpipe (not sure if its stock or not, but i dont see the point in wrapping a stock dp)
Manual Boost controller (but no boost gauge
)
(found out after i brought it back):
a different compressor housing
tuned/flashed
So i take it home, its all well and good but the second day i have it, i throw a CEL
. so i use my friends code reader and it says i have a clogged EGR. so i make an appointment with courtesy and i bring my car down there. I talk to the guy who worked on my car for weeeeeks "tuning" it because i guess as it turns out, (now my car) was repod' and sold at an auction, and the previous owner (from NJ) just put on parta and never tuned it or anything. so the guy who said he "tuned it" said i have 397 HP to the wheels at 6200 RPMs with 33 lbs of boost.
So as of right now im afraid to launch my car (yes it has launch controll , bouncing at 6k)

397awhp at 33 psi? I have a real hard time believing that if the only mods you have are the ones listed. I would get it in the hands of a professional tuner and have them flash/re-flash it to make sure everything is good.

lower boost!!!! get a WBo2 and have it re-tuned
you can log AFR with a WB and log knock with just a tactrix cable and laptop
or take it to a tuner shop with the equipment you need but 33 LBS is wild for pump gas bro youll be detonating then bang....

no way u have that hp with those mods.. or running that boost safely
sounds like this car is going to be a headache.. and sounds like the pople that sold it are even worse!.. i would take it back to be honest with u

like i said thats to much boost for your car to run safely with those mods..
you should really turn it down..
and or get rid of the car before you really get a REAL headache and it poops on you..

thats a high rpm for stock turbo to be hitting peak power at.. ussually starts to taper down by that point if im not mistaken...
also stock turbo might s[pike 33 but wont hold that thru powerband... theres no way ur running that.. you could spike 33.. then taper to 27.. but either way get a guage.. a good one.. and do some logging with evoscan.. before you regret it

You came here and asked for help. I tell you you're wrong, then you tell me a "boost gauge from a cheap autoparts store" and some "dealer" tell you that you're running 33 psi (and that I'm full of ****)? You're funny
