quickest and cheapest way to get to 400whp?
AEM intake, 3" turbo-back exhaust, GM boost control solenoid, FP Red, E85, Walbro fuel pump, injectors, ECU tune. About $4 - 4.5k for parts and installation.

Like everyone has said all bolt ons plus e-85 or meth. i have ix with TBE, manual boost controller, 02 dump, intake ,UPIC, LICP, ets 3.5 ic, walbaro 255, 50/water 50/ meth injection tune, shep trans/ Fidanza 4.3 clutch and made 349 on cbrd mustang dyno if i woulda been on a dyno jet i woulda made a lil over 400 Thats an ix with stock turbo stock cams, stock head and stock block. But e-85 is suppose to make more power than meth so if u wanna be closer since u have the iiv go with e-85 instead of meth.
Drop-in filter: $75
Walbro fuel pump: $110
Injectors: $360
Turbo-back 3" exhaust: $800
Tune: $450
That will probably net you somewhere around a little over 300 whp for an Evo VIII on a Dynojet on 91 pump gas. Maybe somewhere around 350 whp (?) on a Dynojet on E85 (though once you start upping the boost you probably want to upgrade your head studs as well). And remember, if you want to get tuned for both 91 and E85 because you don't want to run E85 all the time, or don't have access to E85 all the time, your tune will likely cost more than $450.
From there, things start to get more expensive e.g.
- $900 for cams, springs and retainers
- $800 for FMIC and lower intercooler piping
- $1800 for FP Red turbo upgrade
- $500 for clutch
- etc.
And remember, all of these are parts prices only, and do not include installation. If you want to make power, costs start to add up quickly!!
