currently a mazdaspeed owner trading in for an Evo

Hello guys, I'm new to this forum. I am currently a mazda guy and I am on three different mazda forums. I drive a 2003 mazdaspeed protege with some mods such as catless exhaust, intake, and front mount intercooler. But anyway, I am thinking about trading it in for an Evo simply because I can get more power for the same amount of money. My question is if I do get an Evo, where should I start as far as modding goes? Also, what mods are ideal for the 400HP-600HP range?
