Evo 4/ GSR high temp sensor/EGT Sensor cheat

Hi. Thought id share a quick tip. after buying my 1.8 GSR i had a problem with the exhaust temp light staying on. This basically tells the ecu that it is running lean and so the ecu compensates by richening up the fuel/air mix. After checking it over i found the previous owner had installed a high flow cat without the sensor bung, so had just disconnected the sensor. After a bit of research etc. I came across a tip. Find the joiner for the EGT Sensor (comes out under the drivers seat under the car) and join the 2 wires with a 270K or 330K Resistor. Voila! No more rich mixture, no more High temp light on the dash...

This is an excellent tip! I am in the process of getting a new exhaust and was wondering about this exact thing. Thanks for the post!
