Immobilizer location

Is the Immobilizer chip located in the ECM for an 06' EVO? I need to locate it so I can provide some numbers for the immobilizer code from the dealership.

Anyone? I know you can disable it in ECUFLASH under Immobilizer but does that mean it's built into the ECM?

I think its all built in because I just screwed mine up. My car wont start now. I flashed my ECU with a factory default ROM for my Evo 9. Unfortunately I didn't take into effect that the ROM had '0000' in the immobilizer section and my original is of course different. Now I cant even get ECU flash to read my ECU. Why? Because my car has to be on!

This sucks...

Its behind the plastic near the steering wheel, on the ignition side.

No that's not what he is saying and no you can't. The ecu is behind the glovebox and the immobilizer is in the steering column. If you have your ecu burn out you can buy a used ecu and immobilizer "box" from TAE in Florida and then they will match and the car will start. To raziel that sucks. I'll try and think of a solution sorry :-/
