That's why you test and validate that the outputs work There is a test function when selecting outputs, it's quite helpful. IF you turn the output on then off and the fan runs continually... you're on the wrong output!

Yeah, I understand that. I think my problem lies somewhere else, as no output shut off the fan today. I turned every output to off, and the fan was still going full speed. So I have a problem somewhere else.

you missed what I said. It's a low side driver... so turning off that output will ground the pin and turn the fan on.

You need to turn the pin TEST(ON) or to FAN (and set the polarity to low)

ALSO there are 2 fans. A radiator fan and an AC fan. You need to know which one is on.

Oh okay, thanks for that. I get it now. I will give that a try in a bit.

Its the rad fan. Not the AC fan.

*edit*

Yep it was the driver, I don't know why I didnt think about that because you have to mess with that on the MINI's to get he clutch switch working, well that and add a pullup.

Thanks Ernie.

Reminds me as well... the internal pull resistors do not work on the vipec... so you'll have to add an external one to run the Ethanol content sensor. Details & diagram to follow.

Does a PCL file for a PNP model actually look any different than a standar cal file that comes with the VPS software like a subaru file etc for a typical v44?

A couple difference between the V44 or V88 files. Not very many, just different input options ect. For the most part the PCL is exactly the same between models.

I just was tuning on my buddies V88 wire in on his mini and it was just like the pnp for the mini. He just had some more input and output choices.

Good News! Especially for R/TErnie

There is a new updated PlugIn Vipec Evo 4 to 9 Ecu now available, its based on the V88.
It has more inputs and outputs with more switched inputs and closed loop knock control as standard and now has a 4bar mapsensor fitted to the Ecu.

Got this info from lancerregister.com

I'm planning on getting a V44 late summer after my caging, is there a sample configuration that someone could share so I can explore and begin to learn the program? Thanks!

Go here:

http://www.vi-pec.com/software

download the software. It comes with sample maps. It has the most stable firmware maps. I have the newest firmware (beta) it has some added features but for the most part its going to be the same thing as what you are seeing.

My buddy is a dealer for them so I am hitting him up to find out some more info like price and all that. They are strict about advertised price if they find out you sell it for less then anybody else they will pull your rights to sell. So when he finds out more ill post some more information.
