So i have a 97 gst. I recently converted it to Evo 8 ecu. so the car turns over but wont idle. prob due to the ecu being tuned for 2000cc injector and i only have 750cc injectors. i bought a tactrix cable and downloaded ecuflash. when i try and read the ecu this is what comes up.

Does anyone have any idea of what i should do. this is my first time trying to tune. figure if im going to learn let it be on my own car. my flash pin is correct and all the wiring is done right. oh and battery voltage is good.

 

Check to make sure you have the right vech. checked for logging. Sometimes I click other cars in the top option and it will not connect.

 

ya im clicking on the right vehicle. i also tried the other vehicle options and nothing works

are you using the 1.3cable or the 2.0? I had the same problem with 1.3 cable with the new version of ecuflash so I downloaded the 1.29 ecuflash and it work. For my 2.0 tactrix, the cable is broken and not connecting. try it out.

In general I would avoid using a version of EcuFlash that old. That revision would be at least 5 years old if not older. You're missing a lot of driver and firmware improvements. Send us an email and we'll help you sort out the issue.

I have 1.3u cable and I cant connect it to the new version and I was searching here that they had success with 1.29, so I used that to study the tuning. But I also have the 2.0 Tactrix and that's what I've been using with the new version. The only reason my 2.0 Tactrix wasn't working because the cable is broken. If you can help me figure out how to work the 1.3u cable that would be awesome

 

Sure, send me an email to support at tactrix dot com and we'll do some troubleshooting. I can also send you a USB cable for the 2.0 if you need one, but they're just a common mini USB cable like the one you'd use for a digital camera, GPS, hard drive, etc..
