Question about data logging!

Hey fellas! I have a fully built Evo by cbrd that I recently purchased via private sale. The car is as solid as a rock and runs and feels great. I was supervised the previous owner didn't have any gauges or data logging installed in the car. Now that I have it I've been thinking about how I'm going to monitor my car. I see that this tactrix cable is pretty popular. I was wondering if anyone has one of these cables and how they like it. Also any suggestions if I should go with a laptop? Or do it via cell phone? I've been out of the loop for quite some time. I'd appreciate any advice on this topic. I'd like to be able to see what's going on so I can troubleshoot any issues that may occur down the road and to monitor my performance! Thanks!

Tactrix? What else do I need? Or is there something better out there?

You need a tactrix openport 2.0 and I believe an adapter is necessary for certain years of the evo 8/9.

You also need EvoScan, which does all the data logging, its like a $15 program, good stuff.

And EcuFlash is free from Tactrix, but is only necessary if you're going to re-tune the car.

As for using a computer or a cell phone, you won't be able to use a phone. You're going to need some kind of laptop to do it, since the Tactrix uses a standard USB cable, and you can't plug a usb into a phone or tablet. Plus the EvoScan program is made to work on windows computers.

tactrix 2.0 can stand alone data log to a microsd card, definitely the way to go.
