Rich idle, cruise, stumble
Rich idle, cruise, stumble
Hey guys I have an 04 evo with bolt ons. Evo 9 turbo, 255 walbro, speed density setup, etc. Went on vacation for 2 weeks and when I came back, started the car and it was doing weird things. Went to a friends house and on the way cruising was rich. It would we in the high 11s - low 12s at 60mph or so partial throttle. Every time I would get to a stop light it would idle 10.8 - 11.4 or so. Got home and idle jumped to around 13ish but would occasionally drop. When it gets to low 11s car wants to stumble. I checked for boost leaks and all good. Changed front o2 and still doing the same thing. I wanted to log it but my cable broke. Any ideas what could cause this?
My friend has a tactrix 2.0 cable. Does anyone know if that will work on an Evo eight or is it only the 1.3?

Tactrix 2.0 will work.
Pull the injectors and see if the tips are gunked up. It can cause a poor spray pattern, which will make the car run rich/poorly.
If the car is dual mapped, make sure it's on the correct map for the fuel in the tank.

Car is not on dual map and I pulled the injectors yesterday because one was leaking at the manifold and from what I could see they look fine...is there any way to see if injectors are the problem by logging it?
Your fuel trims won't be consistent. You'll typically be able to watch fuel trims "drift" one way or the other, then snap back to where they're supposed to be. Or they'll just be all over the place since the ECU is struggling to keep fueling in line because the injectors aren't consistent.
Thank you for the help letsgetthisdone....Ok, I'm not very experienced with logging...how can I post it up here for you guys to see...also what am I looking for when it comes to the sensors that may be causing this issue like Omni map, etc...what voltage are they supposed to be reading etc?

Well, back when we were talking about this in the other thread I did install another fpr but car ran fine for months after that. The pressure at the rail reads fine but I'll look into it.
Yes, the car ran fine, then sat for two weeks, and now the fuel pressure that hasn't changed unless he lost the fuel pump or FPR is effecting how the car drives.

This is not the same question. The car has never done this before but maybe if you put the same effort into helping out that you put into finding all those threads the issue may be fixed. Youre an ******* dude. Ive seen you post in many threads and instead of helping people you just bash them because i guess thats just your nature. Im trying to figure this out with what i got. If you wont help me then please dont post on my thread. Thank you to those who are willing to help. That being said, im trying to use my friends 2.0 cable to log this thing but i cant fiure it out. My 1.3 cable broke so im screwed. I dont know if you need some type of software update for the 2.0 or what. The list of items to log wont show up and when i try to add them it gives me error messages. :sigh: idk what to do with this thing now. I guess try to find a 1.3 cable. If any of you know how to setup this thing to work with the 2.0 cable please let me know. Im not too familiar with logging and tuning as you can already tell.
