Sold on UTEC

I had a long talk with Blonde yesterday about the UTEC and tuner...and he showed me some pics of a possible program that was basically a real time display showing engine parameters via laptop, etc.

Im curious, what will be the capabilities of the program (egt, boost, knock, etc?) and what extra sensors on top of the UTEC and tuner will I need?

wait, I take that back, i know what the f-con is. Its hardly better than any run of the mill unit and because it says HKS on it doesn't make it better, at all.

the f-con is great if you can tune it. the utec is very easy to tune since you don't need any special software etc... the f-con can only be tuned by an HKS pro shop (which there aren't that many) but i guess you already knew that. can you please explain why the f-con is better than the UTEC? are you running one on your car? who tuned it? can you tune it yourself?

thanks

Hmmm turboxs probably doesnt like me right now, and i'll still say the utec is a great tuning tool. especially with all the gui programs people on here are developing, it just keeps getting better.

F Con is a nice unit indeed - but it is not user tunable, and never will be

There are no other sensors needed for the UTEC or Tuner.

Might want to contact Malibu Jack - he is one of our local customers (got the UTEC and Tuner from us) and is a bit of a whiz at computer stuff - I think he is the one that wrote the prelim GUI interface you saw James.

Thanks Adam. Im gonna call in an order tommorow. Even though its a small fortune Im not stable enough to spend, Im sure I'll be happy. Im going to buy the UTEC first, then add in the tuner when I get $$ for the exhaust AND tuner, this way I can weld the 02 bung to my new exhaust and be done with it. Thanks for the help.
