That would be perfect, assuming you have an address in IL that can have mail forwarded to you. That wasn't an option for me, as having an out-of-state ID is a pain in the *** for me. Definitely not worth it (for me) to have a car registered out of state.

Alright, from what i understand, when it comes to going to a shop and getting tuned the ROM number on the ECU will change. Therefore before anything, i should ask the tuner for the original copy to be saved to be able to reflash later for smog. along with oem parts, What else would i need to save?

ABSOLUTELY save your original ROM. Keep all stock parts between air filter to cat. converter, and you are good. Back in the day, we'd swap turbo kits off/on our Hondas, every two years. It's NOT fun. At least our cars don't need too much stuff changed out, unless you go for the big hp stuff. Still, good luck to y'all with that. I'm too old/lazy to bother, any more

Sounds good.! not looking for *big* hp numbers. id be happy with 400-450 for a daily. fbo, e85, and stock turbo for now (then a stock frame gtx3071r gen 2 later). you can rest easy now and live vicariously through me.

HAHA, deal! Just remember anything you put on the car, you gotta R&R, twice, later My car used to pass visual with only swapping my turbo back and made 450whp. It doesn't take much, with some creativeness and a CARB legal intake. It wasn't so bad. That was with an average smog tech who was just looking for obvious, aftermarket stuff. My car is largely stock. The pick above is how the engine bay always looked.
I would have kept the car here and continued to keep the car passing, giving the state all that money... but, they finally made things not worth it. They could have kept making all kinds of money off me, for a car in only drive 1k miles per year, but noooooooooooo. They would rather be dicks and lose it all

Also did you get a letter that sent you to referee?

I've had my EVO IX since 2006, new, lightly modified, never got it tuned until this year.

I have a Megan O2 housing, Agency Power Downpipe, RRE high flow cat, Invidia Exhaust, Nisei Lower Intercooler Pipe, APS BOV, Blitz Induction cover.

I've been passing SMOG for years with my mods thanks to a friendly place willing to not look so closely. Luckily I saved my stock ECU tune and can go back to stock when I get smogged and since my history with smog never showed a different CAL ID, I should be good.

Never thought I'd be so glad to have not gotten tuned for so long lol
