Anyone Elses car do this with the UTEC? (Pics inside)

My car would occasionally shoot flames before the UTEC, but now it is non stop. Anytime I get in to 3rd or higher and over 6K or so and let off this happens:

I'm not complaining. I was just curious if it's happening to anyone else. I am still on the stock map too. The only mods are the UTEC, BR 3" turbo back and a conical filter.

The rest of the pics can be seen here:

I am encoding the videos now. I'll post them asap.

hehe.. if your running Map1 (the stage 1 map) and no cat, the timing when decelerating is whats causing it.. I have a cat so it seems to supress the flaming belches.. If your running in switch mode 0, well, thats just weird cuz its just a passthrough mode at that point..

I guess I should have been more specific. I am using the Stage 1 map. No extra tuning.

I think many people get some flaming when they go catless. You gotta admit though, it's pretty cool

The video is ready. It's 35mb, so dialup can forget about it.

http://www.extremegnome.com/vids/evoflames.avi
DIVX required.

It is a little rice, but I still like it. I have the stutter box set at ignition cut, so it's not dumping fuel when I push the clutch in. Now it's getting it on almost all hard decels.

Ignition cut means you are cutting the ignition but the fuel is still flowing. This is why you are flaming. It's tough on the motor.

Usually ignition cut of for cars with NOS. I suggest you swap over to injector cut. No flames, but nicer on the engine.

If you have cats do not use ignition cut, you will kill the cats.

Pretty cool anyway. Just wanted to make sure you knew what you were doing.

It is on fuel cut. I just mistyped what I was thinking.

You guys need to expand your mind with the music. I don't play linkin park type crap.

Jesus man, that's awesome! More incentive for me to get the UTEC now! I love the music, the Dylan at least. By the way, what kind of wheels are those? I'm looking for some wide 17" wheels good for autox, pref in black.

Hey man, diggin the White stripes! I actually bought that CD the same weekend I got my Evo, so it's like total car music to me now.
So what kind of wheels you got? Do they come in 17s?
Thanks!

heh.. since I don't use nitrous and I have a cat, I use the fuel cut settings for my flat shifting, and rarely if ever get flames on downshifting..
