Idle hang

Not sure what to exactly call it. But my rpms stick. Not sure its a tuning deal, or if its a maf problem (going speed density soon) but what can cause my rpms to stick?

For example shifting into second gear and coasting rpms wont drop, car will actually accelerate while my foot is off the throttle. Also if sitting at a light or stop sign rpms will be stuck at 2k. If i tap the throttle it will drop back down to 900/1000 where it's supposed to be.

Pull your top intercooler pipe and look into the throttle body. Check your throttle plate is not sticking partly open. If it looks fully closed it may be the throttle shaft seals. Over time the shaft seals degrade and leak. If those are good check to make sure you have no other leaks on the inlet side of the throttle plate.

Not sure if this makes a difference. But I built the engine over winter. Before the build I don't remember it doing this. I did a e85 build. Stock crank. Hta71, 10.5.1 compression ratio. Also put a Meghan racing tubular manifold on(stock looked to have a crack)

Make sure the throttle cable isn't sticking. Also, you didn't "clean" the sealant out of the throttle body, did you?

No never touched the throttle body. Kept it attached to the manifold and let it sit till build was done.

Well had a chance to look at it. Had to replace my exhaust valve seals. Got it up and running again. The throttle body is sticking slightly open. Can rev it from throttle body and it'll stick at 2k. Then push it closed and its back to normal.
