2k rpm idle?

my 03 evo has a high idle after driving for more then 20 minutes. cold start idle is normal. usually idles @ 1000 rpm because of cams. if i shut off the car it will go back to normal until i hit the gas, and then will go back to 2 k. please give me your advice. thanks

maybe bad tps or iac? or really sounds like a sticking throttle cable....when its at the high idle go to the throttle body and try to "close it" more and see if it drops back down or just rev up it and snap the throttle back to idle and see what happens.

so you get tuned as well? Regardless, diconnect your battery to reset the ecu-- should help if not correct the problem-- sounds to me like the tune though.

you can test the tps by using evoscan, no need to ohm test it. its really just a coil.

take your idle air controller apart and clean it.. sounds like its dirty.

In an EVO the closed loop vs open loop transition is based on airflow hz, not a idle switch or anything like the dsm's.
