Thumbs up Tuna installed

Well I got my Tuna installed in my car today. It integrates really well with the UTEC Brain. I really like how you can control both boxes with one serial connection. Here is a picture of the install! I think it went really well with the AVC-R hanging below it. Took very little modification to get the box in. Just had to cut two small pieces out of the inside of the storage area. I then used a metal mounting strip to create a holder for the Tuna utlizing the screw holes that already existed in the back of the compartment.

Two questions:

When the Tuna turns on I get a number that pops up. The number is 9A5. What does that mean? Gas? The other question is on using the headsets to listen to the motor. I get musical notes that play up then down every few seconds. What the hell is that?

I mounted mine on the 'engine hoist' tab on the front of the head above the exhaust manifold.. seems to work even though its not the optimal place to put it.. It uses a bolt that fits the sensor perfectly except its not long enough.. but guess what, if you saved the hardware from your stock exhaust, there's a bolt with the same thread, but an inch longer that works perfectly if you reuse the tab, and put a washer between the tab and the sensor. (trust me, don't remove that tab altogether, its what they use to support the engine when they take out the transmission for service.)

Tuna is just what they call the "Tuner". Its a wideband box that connects to your UTEC brain.

I mounted my knock sensor on the engine hoist tab just like MJ did. The tone that plays seems to be generated by the box. Ill hook up my laptop to it and see if I can record it.

GAS means the type of fuel it's setup to read for. It can be setup for different fuels.

I hope you did free air calibration before you installed it.

I have never heard tunes from our tuners.

Yep free air calibration is done. Took me several attempts to get it though. The damn thing is incredibly sensitive and even the wind blowing in my garage was changing the readings. I finally closed my garage then got 270 for the reading 3 times in a row so figured that was good.

So when we tuning Mick?
