safe to run car like this?
safe to run car like this?
I just installed Greddy 660cc injectors, walbro fuel pump, ultimate racing Intercooler piping and a hks intake. I already had TXS TBE and a utec.
Im waiting to put on cams and head studs and then ill be getting a dynotune.
Im running the stage 2 map. The car idles pretty good. Is it safe to drive around with it. I dont have a wideband so im afraid to tune it.
what do you guys think.

It's very important to match the map to the fuel delivery. If you're tuned for a stock fuel pump and injectors, run the stock fuel pump and injectors.
The parameters are different, and it will throw the fuel mixture out of whack.
If you're driving around normally, I think you'll be okay. But if you start kicking it up, I think you'll definitely have problems.

With the bigger injectors, It's likely running very rich with the bigger injectors and pump..
Since a majority of the time your in closed loop, you won't notice much difference because it will learn and idle and drive around normally..
Cold start it will run very rich, and when you go past 30% throttle position, it will run rich also..
with 21psi it won't be as rich as you would expect, but I'm sure your seeing tons of black smoke.
If possible, don't drive the car too much, it will likely fall on its face when you get on it.. at the least it'll not be making anywhere near good power. If you NEED to drive the car around a bit.. take 10%-15% fuel away from the entire fuel map (0% through 100% through the entire RPM Range), its still going to be rich, but not as bad.. (FWIW those injectors are about 20-25% larger than stock) Don't use the timing map.. Leave that stock until you can get it tuned.. Let the ECU do the Timing work until your sure everything is working ok and you can get the car tuned.

Only times im gonna need to drive it is for an oil change, the cam install and then 5 hours to maryland. So Ill take some fuel out of her and let the ecu do the timing. thanks for your insight malibujack!
