I didn't read if you did or didnt have one, but do you have some sort of aftermarket intake?

I have been checking my logs and the mod maf and the stock maf in stock mode are different. I bet it is just different sample times. I am not sure though. I guess it is not that big of deal.

yes.. the input and output of the UTEC is a bit out of phase.. so they both read slightly different but average about the same when no offset is used.. its a few Milliseconds behind..

It does affect the car slightly (I have verified it runs slightly leaner with the UTEC installed as opposed to the stock ECU only) but its not a huge difference (not enough to affect things negatively)

I am running the stock air box. I did another pull tonight in third gear, but the timing looks a little better. Similar conditions, environmentally, but I was limited with a car in front of. So that's why the log cuts out around 6k.

Tomorrow, when I get the chance, I will pull the negative on the battery and reset the ECU. Then I will log some pulls again. We'll see what happens...

From tonight.

Resetting the ECU helped a lot.

It looks like the timing is pretty close to the stage 1 map.

Does the stock ECU still "learn" from knock/detonation that occurs when the UTEC takes over and TPS breaches 25%?

So, if you were running an arbitrary map 1 and it knocked... would the ECU "learn" from this knock if you revert back to map 0 (stock mode)?

You know that is a good question. But it isn't a big deal. BEcause with you timing you are adjust for absolute degress before TDC If you were adjusting the timing by a value I could see that you would see that problem. It will only affect the car under 25%tps but but you shouldn't get knock down there or you have some problems.

My understanding is all of the signals are reproduced and/or passed through to the stock ECU, therefore if knock was experienced, its likely that the ECU was aware of it regardless of what map you were in..

Odds are the ECU was extremely unhappy with something, bad gas, environmental, etc..

You are right, the timing your seeing now is real close to the TXS Stage1 map.. which is not surprising since the TXS map is very conservative and reflects what I'd see a car running 91 octane to see.. The big issue is the Fuel portion of the TXS stage1 map removes too much fuel (and is way lean) if you have modifications that raise boost higher than 19psi, or intake modifications (intercooler, pipes, intake, filter, etc..)

I don't have a boost controllers, nor do i have the ABC installed...

Is it safe to assume that 100% on the boost map equals 20psi?

Man, I really do need a boost gauge and wideband before I do anything .. otherwise I am poking around in the dark (but i knew this already)

Gotta pay to play...

you can't assume anything.. It depends on your exhaust system and other modifications.. I wouldn't change or adjust anything until you have the right instrumentation to do it.
