GTII 8262 Turbocharger
Part #: 14001-AK030
MSRP: $2,555.00
Brand new from HKS is the GT2 8262 Turbocharger. The 8262 turbocharger is the latest in the GT2 series. A step up from the popular 7460 turbocharger, the 8262 is designed for power output between 400-520 HP. The T25 flange makes it adaptable to most common turbo manifolds which makes it an ideal turbocharger for a variety of applications.
GT2 Turbocharger Key Features:
- HKS Designed Ball Bearing Center Housing
- Twin Scroll Design Minimizes Exhaust Pressure at High RPM
- Heat Resistant Steel Turbine Wheel & Housing for Increased Durability
- 54T 1.00A/R Compressor, 87T 0.69A/R Exhaust
*Please note the turbocharger shown is not representative of the 8262 turbo. The 8262 turbo is externally wastegated.

No, but it does allow me to qualify the original post. So thank you.
The HKS GTII 8262 turbo is offered two ways:
#14001-AK030 is the universal version of the 8262 and must use an external wastegate.
#11004-AM005 is the application-specific Evo-X version of the 8262 and it comes with an internal 14 psi wategate (like stock). It bolts onto the stock Evo X exhaust manifold and accepts the stock O2 housing and UICP. So while it's not technically a "stock-frame" turbo, it is a stock replacement turbo.
I've been running the #11004-AM005 on my personal Evo X and at a conservative 26 psi I'm making 380 awhp / 360 ft.lbs.
If anyone has any questions about the 8262 on an Evo, I'm more than happy to help.

Physics dictate that since the turbo is capable of more power, it will not have the same characteristics. It will likely have a later boost threshold. However, transient response should be better thanks to the ball bearing CHRA.
The 7460r is BB. so likely a little more latency all around.
