1/4 mile Turbo OZ
I can confirm the Mivec motors stock standard only produce around 100kw at the front wheels which is around 133hp at the flywheel. FOr a 1600cc engine this is still very quick and in the light car that they come in the do go very hard. But they are not worth the expense in upgrading to my mind.
That has been our experience with the 4G92 DOHC engien anyway. Now we are fitting the 6A12 DOHC Mivec engines to the lancer / mirage which is a true 160kw engine with a lto more torque. That makes for interesting times.

GDI w/ MIVEC . Massive rework of cyl head design and powerful software to run it properly. Crazy amount of engineering.
GDI. Other companies have their design, but Mitsu popularized it with sales #'s since 98 or 00 til now. No other company want to take a piece of that market.

And another thing, GDI as it stands right now is primarily a gas-saving technology. Performance enthusiasts don't really have much to be excited about as far as I can tell. Call me when Porsche or Ferrari starts using a GDI engine. Or hell, even an Evo.
