update

I installed TEIN superstreet coilovers, i have them on 15 threads high, front and back, full stiff, and it seems like im getting less traction than i was before. also, when i slam on the gas in 3rd gear the rpms go to about 3500 and then fly up to like 4500 or 5000. I think this is clutch slippage. At any rate, i was messing around with my buddies car on the freeway today...

Camaro Z28 - automatic w/ intake, headers, and catback.

I pulled about a quarter car on him through 3rd and 4th, at the end of fourth as i was getting into 5th, he made up his losses and came right even with me.

All i know is i think my clutch is unable to handle all the power of stage 2. I thought that it would only start to go if i was launcing the car, which i havn't been, but i think the sheer power through the powerband is ripping it apart, in 3rd gear the boost will build all the way up to full and my rpms will just shoot up and and then catch around 5000.

try setting your rears about 13-14... and put your fronts on 4ish... the hard rears should help with the weight transfer and the soft fronts should help keep the nose down and put weight on the front tires. but be careful in turns cuz this will make your *** a lil squirly (this is how i set my car up for autox)

well i need to find a way to make it good for daily driving on the street as this is more of a street car than a race car.

I had a life altering experience the other night when i was getting on to the freeway, it was wet and snowy and i wasn't using my head, i had the suspension on full stiff and the back end came out as i was going from the on ramp to the fast lane and i did a 360 on the freeway at about 50 mph, definitley gave me something to think about. I was able to actually use the e-brake somehow to lock up the back end when i was sliding backwards and it allowed the car to use its momentum to swing back around to right direction then i just slammed on the brakes and the car stopped right in the middle of the road. It was extremely scary.

If it is SS kit. Soften it up to like 7 or 8. If you are driving in snowy/rainy contidions, set it softer.

You can't change the tein basic's damper settings so what is the setup for the tein basics? Are they all 10s?

hotshot, It's good that no one was harmed. Definitely soften the settings for slippery conditions. What tires do you use?

I just talked with Tein and the basic damper setting is default to 8 on all four.

yeah, basics are set at 8

I'm on stock tires, stock clutch, but my clutch is done for.

03RallyLancer - He ran 13.8 stock, not 13.2, it's a Z28 with intake, headers, and catback.
